Advent is a time for us to prepare for the “great joy” that is the Incarnation. During Advent at Saint Thomas More we can share the gifts we’ve received with those in need by volunteering for the Advent Giving Tree (AGT) ministry.
What does AGT do: Each year AGT provides over 1,000 gifts and gift cards to families and individuals within our community and served by Central Texas nonprofits. Hundreds of parishioners purchase and donate gifts and gift cards. Before and during Advent, STM volunteers donate time to make the ministry a success.
Who receives gifts: In 2023 we plan to provide gifts to those served through STM’s St. Vincent de Paul Society, Mobile Loaves & Fishes, and those in need across the parish. In addition, we’ll provide gifts to those served by nonprofit/church organizations in our area, including Annunciation Maternity Home, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Austin, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elgin, Saint Louise House, The Settlement Home, SAFE Alliance, and Trotter House.
How you can volunteer: Here are some of the ways you can volunteer with the Advent Giving Tree:
