Liturgy & Music
Become Involved in Our Liturgical Ministries
"On the night before He died, Christ gathered His Apostles in the upper room to celebrate the Last Supper and to give us the inestimable gift of His Body and Blood." (Liturgy Documentary Series, USCCB)
What are Liturgical Ministries? Many things: Music, Hospitality, Art, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, and many more are all efforts that are required to hold Masses at St. Thomas More. It is a wonderful way to move from membership to discipleship!
As you examine whether you want to join a Liturgical ministry, we recommend you do the following three steps
First, Pray! Prayer is the first step in knowing where God is calling you to serve. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you discern your gifts.
Second, Respond. Responding to the prompting of the Holy Spirit is the second step. Call or email Sue, Ren or Karen who will be happy to answer your questions and provide you with information about becoming a part of a Liturgical Ministry.
And third, Commit. Making a commitment to serve is the third step. Each Ministry requires a different time commitment, but all require us to be fully committed. Commit to letting your Ministry become a priority in your life. Attend training sessions or rehearsals, serve regularly and with reverence. Allow your Ministry to help you to grow spiritually.
Many people wait to be invited before they come forward to help. Consider this....something has made you read this page....maybe God has just personally invited you!
