Communitas Frequently Asked Questions
How long will each Small Faith Community continue?

Participants in each group are asked to make a minimum commitment to meet once a week for six weeks. After the initial six-week sessions have concluded, some groups may decide to continue meeting. Groups may continue as long as the members want to meet. Groups may enroll together in the formal sessions that will be offered by Communitas each fall and spring.

Will it cost anything to participate?

There is a $5–$10 fee for the initial study materials. There are no other costs associated with joining a group.

How long can I participate in a Small Faith Community?

That is entirely up to each individual. You may find that your schedule only allows you to participate during a six or eight-week session, or you may find that you want to continue indefinitely.

Where will meetings be held?

Some groups will often meet in the homes of the members and may rotate the meeting locations between the member's home or they may choose one home to meet in each week. Other groups will meet in the facilities at St. Thomas More. The registration form allows you to specify where you would prefer to meet.

I'm already a member of an informal faith-sharing group, how does my group fit into Communitas?

We recognize that there are many small faith sharing groups who contribute to the spiritual vitality of the parish. All such groups are invited to join the ministry, and can register together as a group. There is a space at the bottom of the registration form to list group members (each member does not need to register individually). The facilitator of each group must attend a brief training session. In addition, Communitas offers materials and resources to any group that wishes to take advantage of them.
